Welcome...

To say that we are working in challenging times is probably stating the obvious.  September and October last year saw the economy change forever as cash and credit disappeared overnight.

In response to these changing conditions, General Systems have been looking hard at how we can support and help clients in this new environment.  Over the next few weeks, we will be announcing some key initiatives which will assist you in providing improved support and information to the business, driving better decision making, and helping you reduce costs.  There will be something for every client to use, so please do keep an eye out for our news updates.

For the next few weeks until 30th May, we will be offering discounts on all Infor software ordered and invoiced in that time period.  Please contact either myself or my colleagues on Support for more information.

To start the ball rolling, in this issue of I-News, we ask you to take another look at Vision, the key reporting tool for SunSystems users.  Over the past year, we have worked on a number of projects with clients to make better use of this solution, and we share some of the examples with you.

News from General Systems....

Recent months have seen a number of exciting developments at General Systems, delivering even greater support to our clients:

  • General Systems recently completed a very smooth office move to premises at Cheadle Royal Business Park.  This is part of our planned development and enables us to offer much improved on-site facilities to clients attending courses;
  • Bucking the trend, we have continued to invest in our Support Team, and have recently appointed Barbara Harrison.  Barbara worked for many years as a Senior Financial Manager at ICI and brings considerable experience;
  • Infor have recently been recognised as one of the most innovative business software developers globally, ensuring that whatever your requirements, we can help you;
  • General Systems have been recognised as the Number One Global Partner for Kontrolla, a suite of workflow and document management solutions that help manage purchasing, expenses and sales processes in organisations;
  • General Systems have also launched a comprehensive hosting service, delivering a complete Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity and DBA Service for a fixed monthly fee;
  • As part of our technology offering, we have recently helped a major charity plan its IT strategy for the next 3 years;
  • Our geographical spread continues, making life interesting for our Consultants.  The team have recently been involved in projects in Poland, Spain, Italy and Holland, and we will shortly be starting projects in Australia and Ireland;
  • We have also teamed up with Syscap, the IT Specialist Asset Finance Company, and further announcements on how this will assist clients will be made soon.

Getting Better Vision....

The Vision reporting suite is one of the most under-used tools in the SunSystems kitbag, partly because it is so easy to use.  Based on a familiar spreadsheet format, it has a low learning curve with tremendous ability to drill down into a business and highlight trends.

But did you know:

  • A client in the futures market uses Vision Executive to analyse risk in outstanding debt and automatically alerts the business managers when limits are reached.  This has reduced their exposure to risky debt by 30%;
