A Happy New Year to all our customers, and thank you for your business and support during 2006.

During 2007, helping our clients remain competitive in today’s challenging world remains a key focus for us here at General Systems, as we continue to provide you with the best solutions, supported by the best services and support packages available today.

Over the next few weeks we will be keeping you up to date about some key developments in the way we are able to support you. These will include:

I-Services: A new customer web portal, launching in January, which will allow you to contact people here at General Systems and log and track your calls to our services team 24/7

Optimising SunSystems – These very popular seminars will continue into 2007, both on line and face to face. They are a key tool to help you get the most out of your investment, and we do hope that you can attend at least one of these. You will be able to discuss best practice with other users, and see the latest versions of SunSystems 4.3 , version 5 and Vision.

Customer workshops – Again, these proved very popular last year and we will be announcing dates shortly for e-invoice management, Document Management, web based purchasing, Forecasting and Planning and Credit Management. Details of all these dates will be posted on our web site shortly and all customers will receive a personal invite,

Solution Packages - Key to helping our clients remain agile are our Solutions Packages, focused on Reporting, Spend Control and Document Management, but also available in other areas. Solutions Packages offer you the ability to quickly plan, implement and use the solutions, deriving key benefits from day 1, without the need for a protracted implementation.

Our Support packages are designed to keep you working, and to provide assured support for your systems, resolving issues as quickly and painlessly as possible.

January 2007 sees the launch of our new support packages, available to all clients. Details are below, but if there is something that you require that is not listed, please do contact us and we will be pleased to discuss your requirements with you.

All our Clients benefit from:

• Dedicated Technical Manager, ensuring the quality of any services delivery

• Online Customer Support (Launch Jan 07) Online logging and monitoring of support calls 24/7
• Account Reporting: Letting you know what’s happening with support issues

• Online training – Web based training in core areas, delivered monthly
• Quarterly regional customer workshops, providing a chance to keep up with developments and meet other clients and users.

SunSystems 5.2.2

 

SunSystems 5.2 delivers considerable enhancements to previous versions in the key areas of Security, Query Management and Reporting. There are many additional features aimed at providing easy access to and querying of data by the users

Recognising the increasing demands made upon Systems Security, Version 5.2 delivers increased levels of password control, and the ability to allow users to use their Windows logon credentials. For those who have a lower security requirement the usual SunSystems log on is still available.
Version 5.2 also develops the Control Desk feature further, allowing data to be sorted by multiple columns, grouping of results and multi level filtering. This is all achieved within a user friendly screen.

Users will also be able to take advantage of Vision Reporting Services. VRS is a new, intuitive, easy to use reporting and document production tool. It offers a simplified view of SunSystems data and data structures in a user-friendly report designer. This enables users to build and own their reports within the core system.

SunSystems 4.3

Users of Version 4 can also benefit from some of the enhancements available in Version 5.2. Improved Security, Vision Reporting Services and the improved interface introduced in earlier versions are now available in Version 4.3, which also includes Payment Preview and Withholding Tax in the core product.

Upgrading to 4.3 delivers increased functionality and ensures that you remain on a fully supported platform. This is a recommended route for clients on 4.2.6 or earlier who are not considering an upgrade to Version 5 at this time.

Vision Update

Existing and New users of Vision can now benefit from the latest release of Vision, Vision 6. This delivers increased functionality and ease of use and is now provided as a suite of reporting tools. including Vision Executive, Vision Xl and Vision Word as standard, This allows the users to select the most appropriate reporting tool for the task from a simple drop down menu.

Vision delivers….

  • Intergrated Analytics: helping you detect and explain trends, problems and opportunities that affect your business
  • Enterprise wide Distribution: Vision Net Enterprise allows you to store share and distribute reports around the business via the web.
  • Intuitive dashboards: transforms existing reports into financial, operational or performance dashboards
  • Flexible documents: Vision Word provides an optimal tool for creating monthly statutory or management reports.
  • Secure Data Integrity: Using the latest Serduct technology, Vision is able to report over many databases in your organisation, not just SunSystems. This delivers secure meaningful reporting via easy to use routes, that help you make sense of your business.
  • Secure Access and control; As you would expect, Vision provides security that safeguards sensitive data and reports, regardless of the data source.

Training Academy

Customer training sessions are run on a monthly basis in London and Manchester. For the various agendas, please refer to the web site which is updated with the latest information.

For Customers planning projects this year, we are pleased to announce the introduction of our Training Academy. Membership of the academy offers clients a discount on the normal training rates, depending on the number of days booked. All Clients are members of the Academy.


Clients planning projects, or anticipating increased staff turnover can pre book blocks of training days at a discounted rate. The projects will normally have been agreed with our services team, and the days must be invoiced within 6 months of the booking.

The advantage to project teams and the Finance department is that the training budget can be agreed and fixed in advance, whilst providing flexibility in delivery.

Discounted rates are based on the number of days booked as follows:

30 days + attracts a 15% discount off the standard daily rate

20-29 days attracts a 10% discount off the standard daily rate

10-19 days attracts a 5% discount off the standard daily rate
